MCTM Mentee Information Form

Welcome to the MCTM Mentorship Program. MCTM is concerned about supporting beginning teachers of mathematics and will try to arrange for an experienced teacher to be a mentor for you. The obligation of your mentor will be to initiate regular email communication with you for a period of at least two years. These communications will be an opportunity for you to ask questions about any issues you may have including classroom management, motivation, lesson planning, curriculum questions, mathematics questions, or school politics. Since your mentor will not have any supervisory or evaluation responsibilities for you, you can be comfortable discussing issues which you might not want to bring up with teachers or administrators in your building. While your mentor will be another teacher, she or he may not be an expert in all areas of your concerns but should be able to refer you to appropriate sources. Your responsibility will be to maintain your part of the communication process and to respect the mentor as an experienced and knowledgeable colleague.

After you fill out the form below telling us about your situation and your needs, we will submit it to our potential mentors and ask that one who feels suited to be helpful to you to respond.
