2008 Minnesota Presidential Award Winner
The National Science Foundation has announced that Barb Stoflet of Gatewood Elementary School in Minnetonka is Minnesota’s 2008 Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) award winner for K-6 Mathematics.
Barb was chosen to introduce President Obama during a ceremony honoring the Presidential Awardees in the East Room of the White House. See Barb's introduction and President Obama's remarks in the video. (If the video does not function on this page, it can be viewed directly on YouTube.

Barb will receive a $10,000 cash award from the National Science Foundation and will be invited to Washington, DC for a week of recognition. The 2009 award was open to teachers in grades 7 - 12. The 2010 award is open to teachers in grades K-6 with at least five years of teaching experience.
