Disrupting the Pattern of Failure in Mathematics: 2024 Ross Taylor Leadership Symposium.
|
-
Is your site/district worried about failure in mathematics?
-
Are you looking for practical ways to provide instruction and interventions through a lens of equity in your school/district?
-
Do you need space for your math leadership team to build a plan?
MCTM and MN Math Leaders are excited to learn with Dr. Pamela Seda, author of Choosing to See, A Framework for Equity in Math. The Ross Taylor Leadership Symposium is designed for district and school math leaders, including teacher leaders and ideal for math leadership teams.
Title: Disrupting the Pattern of Failure in Mathematics using the ICUCARE Equity Framework
Description: A focus on equity-centered instruction is needed now more than ever. Many teachers have a desire to change their practice, but don’t know how. Equity-minded teachers are often frustrated by the lack of support or barriers erected by systems created to sort kids rather than educate all of them at high levels. In this session, I will give leaders practical strategies and tools to monitor and support the effective implementation of an equitable mathematics program.
Date: April 11, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Location: DECC, Duluth, Minnesota A copy of the book Choosing to See will be included in the registration fee of $205. 2024 Symposium Registration
And, remember, if 4 or more members of your district/team register, additional registrations are $160 and include one free administrator for every four registrations.
A funding request to attend the Symposium

It's good to remember (be reminded of) the importance of circling back to different topics discussed in the past because learning isn't a one-and-done situation. As such, here's a list of "oh... that's right, the MCA is around the corner" different topics that have been discussed. This review highlights topics that (we believe) will be helpful as schools and districts turn a bit of their attention to the MCA's. Without further ado, four topics, in no particular order, to remember/review (all in MathBits): MDE Suggestions on Preparing for the MCA
