"Early Bird" registration rates for the NCTM Regional Conference are in effect through Oct. 11. You can register for the conference at Regional Conference Registration.

NCTM Regional Volunteers Needed - Volunteers are needed for NCTM and MCTM sponsored activities. If you volunteer for a four hour shift for NCTM, you can register for the conference at the NCTM member rate. If you are a current college student, you can attend conference sessions at no cost. You may volunteer at NCTM Volunteer.

MCTM Volunteers are also needed for MCTM sponsored activities. We will have a two exhibits on site during the day: the Menger Sponge and artist Emily Lynch. If you are planning on attending the conference, please consider volunteering for a 1-2 hour shift to support these activities. You can sign up at MCTM Volunteer.

MCTM member Kay Wohlhuter from UMD is a candidate for NCTM Director At-Large. Voting takes place from September 30, 2015 to November 2, 2015. Watch for it and vote. More information is available at NCTM Election.

MCTM congratulates Leif Carlson of Jefferson Community School in Minneapolis for being named Minnesota's 2013 mathematics awardee for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST).

Grade 11 Mathematics DRAFT Test Specifications - The DRAFT Test Specifications for Grade 11 Mathematics MCA-III and Grade 11 Mathematics MCA-Modified are available on the MDE web site. The specifications are based on the Minnesota Academic Standards in Mathematics revised in 2007. Comments are welcome and should be emailed to with "Mathematics MCA-III Grade 11 and MCA-Modified Grade 11 Test Specifications" in the subject line. The document will remain in draft form until the first operational administration in 2014.
