MCTM member Kay Wohlhuter from the University of Minnesota - Duluth is a candidate for a Director-at-Large position on the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics Board of Directors. The electronic ballot will be available September 23. Anyone who is a member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics as of August 25, 2014 is eligible to vote.
MCTM congratulates Kay on her candidacy and encourages everyone who is eligible to vote in the upcoming NCTM election.

Edcamp Math Science MN - Friday, Oct 17 (MEA)
Attend the Unconference: This FREE Edcamp is designed to focus topics specifically around math and science education within the Edcamp framework and is presented in partnership with MCTM. In short, Edcamp is a movement in professional conferences for educators where teachers show up to an agreed location, build a schedule through volunteering and requesting sessions, and participate in primarily dialogue-based professional development. Grade 11 Mathematics DRAFT Test Specifications - The DRAFT Test Specifications for Grade 11 Mathematics MCA-III and Grade 11 Mathematics MCA-Modified are available on the MDE web site. The specifications are based on the Minnesota Academic Standards in Mathematics revised in 2007. Comments are welcome and should be emailed to mde.testing@state.mn.us with "Mathematics MCA-III Grade 11 and MCA-Modified Grade 11 Test Specifications" in the subject line. The document will remain in draft form until the first operational administration in 2014.
